PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE OF AFFIDAVITS OF CANDIDACY

FOR THE CITY OF PEMBERTON COUNCIL POSITIONS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Affidavits of Candidacy will be accepted during business hours commencing at 7:00 a.m. – 1p.m. on Tuesday,  July14,  2026, and closing at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Pemberton City Hall, 141 4^th Street  Pemberton, Minnesota, for any eligible person who desires to have his/her own name placed on the General Election ballot on November 3, 2026 as a candidate for one of the following positions:

Mayor                   2-year term          (1 position)

Council                 4-year term         (2 positions)

Special Election for Council   2-year term ending Dec 31, 2028   (1 Position)

To be eligible as a candidate, the person filing must be an eligible voter, is, or will be upon assuming office, 21 years of age or more; and will have maintained a residence in the City of Pemberton for 30 days prior to November 3, 2026.

At the time of filing, each candidate shall either pay to the City Clerk a filing fee of two dollars ($2.00) or shall file a petition as required by Minnesota State Statute 205.13.  The petition shall be signed by 5% of the total number of persons voting in the City of Pemberton at the preceding General Election.
